Went on a little road trip to Mexico this weekend. Carmen did excellent in the car on the way there & back. She was a trooper! I cannot get over how big she looks in these pictures. It must be the pigtails that make her look so "old". ;)

Mema & Pepa have this Barney video that Carmen loves to watch. So Great Grandma takes advantage of the snuggling time. Well actually everyone takes advantage of the snuggling time...but just a few photos captured.

Playing on the bed yesterday. She had a frustrating day/last few days. Poor kiddo is getting 7 teeth all at once. 2 came up mid last week (first molars), then another this weekend. Except I noticed that the top molar went back up into the gum. She is fine - just a little edgy and I can't blame her!

Off to church...

Carmen got this cute little outfit from Kerry, our friend from church. Just so happens we had purple shoes to match it already - isn't that fun??? :) If she likes shoes half as much as I do we're in trouble!

It's the naptime face/hair twirlin' time.

I have been practicing with Carmen - getting her ready for the pool! She sticks her face in the water, she's done really well. We will start swim lessons as soon as summer starts up and the pool is above freezing. :) LOL

Carmen has learned a "no-no" song somewhere. We don't tell her no much, we try to tell her what she can do/have. So I'm not sure if it's just from the times we've slipped or at daycare. Anyway, hard not to laugh.

A few words we've heard from Carmen recently besides no: purple, carrot, diaper.

Boo boo kitty comes in pretty handy sometimes! Someone gave it to us at a baby shower. It's a little ice pack and sure does the trick! Carmen usually gets distracted and forgets that she even took a tumble. :)

Carmen likes ring around the rosie. One day she was standing in the kitchen (where we had most recently sang the song). She was rocking back & forth and singing something. She had enough of the tune right that I could decipher what she wanted - ring around the rosie! Here we are tonight getting a little action on video.

Carmen's got a few new words: okay, uh-uh (as in "no"). If in the mood, she will repeat what you say - like tonight she repeated "shredder". She can say the daycare kid's names, most anyway. She communicates very well and understands about 90% of what you say. It's neat watching her learn - you can tell when she is soaking up what you're saying. Scarry thing is when she looks as though she isn't paying attention but then is able to communicate about what you just said.

This winter weather is ridiculous! -3 is the high for Friday, that's just crazy. We are under a storm warning currently - tomorrow we are expecting blizzard like conditions. I am grateful that my boss has suggested we work from home and allowed us to leave early today for safer travels! This kind of weather keeps Brian very busy! Job security I guess!
