Yesterday we went to Carmen's little friend Sunny's #1 birthday party. It was fun to watch and Carmen was entertained just watching the people! Sunny was being very loving to Carmen and giving her a kiss on command. Good thing it was AFTER the cake clean up (see below).










My friend from college - Jennima - came in from IA for the weekend. We had a great time just catching up & hanging out with Carmen. She was a previous member of Carmen's before but now more than ever!

We had Carmen's pictures taken today at JCP. It went very well considering the girl took minimal naps today.

Carmen started saying a new word today - "cup". She is also saying "all done" (repeating us, not on her own yet - she has said it several times though.) We went out to eat tonight - the 3 of us. She was saying "hi" to everyone, like the other day at the grocery store when she told everyone hi that walked by. Problem is she doesn't say it loud enough or says it when they're 2 feet past us, so they don't hear. So I try to help her. :) She also drank about 1/2 adult cup of water tonight at the restaurant. And it showed when we got up to leave. Yep -she had pee'd all over! I changed her diaper as soon as we got home - had to dry her out a bit. In the midst of the drying out, she pee'd again. Water...happens every time. :)

Starting to experiment with her & the spoon. It's a work in progress. Over the weekend we carved out the 11 a.m. bottle - we are starting the transition to prepare for "no more bottle". It's a blessing & a curse I tell you!!!


She has outgrown the baby towels. Growing so fast!!!








One! Two! Three! She's got the ONE. Ali & Alisa have been working with her on counting and to do "One".

Last week, Parents as Teachers was here to visit Carmen. She went through the developmental milestones with us. To no surprise, she was off the charts with talking & social skills. When I told her Carmen says hi, hi kitty, hi Lilly, Momma, Dadda, bye, baby, duckie - she said most kids understand those words at this point & not say them necessarily. Our little chatter bug! PAT lets you keep a toy over the month between visits - this one is perfect timing (see in the video!)

On really humid days, the curls come out on both sides.

Carmen's 11 month pictures! She made it a little easier this month - she loves on the bunny a lot these days. She's really gotten into loving on her stuffed animals. She goes to bed/naps with a little bunny.

We had been at the pool for the afternoon with our Life Group, Carmen didn't have an afternoon nap. So the expressions were few & far between.

We have a smart girl! Tonight Carmen was giving the ball to Lilly. This is Lilly's toy (green ball). Carmen gave it to her several times before I got this video - and even went all the way down the hall for it one time (and tossed it at her when she brought it back). It was too cute!!!

Just fun times...

She's still cruising and is walking behind one of those push toys (video to come). Getting closer!

Since Brian was at a BBQ contest at the Lake, I decided Carmen & I should have a fun sleepover with Leslie! We had fun, it was nice to spend time together. Here's Mikahl, Caran, & Carmen.

Mikahl was insistent on pulling the wagon. Leslie asked him if he was sure - because it was heavy. He pulled it about 5 feet then decided it really was heavy. :)

Yesterday Carmen was going for a toy & got tangled up in the chair. It was fun to watch her figure out how to get out. She did it!

An EARLY birthday gift from Brian & I. She looks lost in the wagon! :) She rode well in it - then started seeing all the room she had to move around & tried getting out. Daddy just couldn't wait to give it to her - although he says it's so she gets another month's use out of it!
